I found it really interesting how everyone learns differently. Some of the people that I was training preferred to have hands on experience and didn't want to take notes. They just wanted me to show them once and then they wanted to practice doing it a few times. This is more of how I learn. Other people, though, took very detailed notes and thought it would be more helpful to simply read over their notes several times. I also found that some people wanted to know why we do things a certain way (or why we do them at all) and others didn't want to know why, they just wanted me to tell them how to do it. Training so far has been a really good experience for me because it has forced me to adjust the way I do things in order to accomodate others. The training manual that I have been working on has also been interesting. It is amazing how a task can seem so simple until you have to write out the steps to it. It makes everything look like such a daunting, long task! I guess when you do something everyday it seems so easy.
I thought the cartoon below was amusing :)
